We have been using natural things for about 5 and a half years now. I am always looking for a dresser and closet deodorizer that is nontoxic. Especially things that work with Logan’s grain mill clothes, because he comes home smelling like sweat and corn. We use a nontoxic soap for laundry. If you are really using a clean pure brand, well then you know your laundry doesn’t smell “fresh” from the toxic laundry detergents. I had been looking for nontoxic dresser and closet deodorizers but I ran into a lot of toxic solutions.
Toxic laundry detergent’s are layered with synthetic, cancerous chemicals that make your nose more “blind”, to where you feel you need more, more, more scent. This is what masks smells and most of the time doesn’t really cover up odors in general anyway. I would much rather eliminate the odor than mask it.
My goal was to eliminate the mildew smell in our closet and the funky smell in our dressers. Our closets are right next to our bathroom so when someone showers and it creates humidity I felt it was really just shoving to humidity to our closet and creating that musty smell.
The first dresser and closet deodorizer is the moisture bags off amazon. They are fragrance free and nontoxic. When they arrived I hung them in my closet (the back of it) and checked them the next day. I could not believe how much water was in them after two day’s! It was unreal. After about 4 days I noticed that musty scent was gone from our clothes. It really helped a ton! The good news is you don’t have to change them for quite a while. I change them like every 4-5 months.
The other closet deodorizer I added to my house after about 4 days was the macrame diffusers so I could see if the moisture bags worked well first. I added essential oils to them like purification, to boost the scent in the closet. It really did help have fresh scent! I add oil every time I put clothes away which is once a week.
Our clothes in the dresser just smelled like a funky old wood smell. We converted an old vintage dresser to a farmhouse style dresser, and it doesn’t smell only like wood. I added these little Activated Bamboo Charcoal bags to the dresser, one in each drawer and two in our big drawer. The difference was UNBELIEVABLE! I have been loving them. I change them about every 3-4 months.
All three of these have really helped deodorize my closet and dresser in a nontoxic way while actually killing the smell! I was really surprised it helped!! These were the best closet deodorizers I have ever used. If you are interested trying these out click on the picture or the links above!
