Even though I grew up in the Agriculture industry it still was intimidating to dress “western”. I have always loved the style but never really dressed it. I wanted to start dressing how I wanted and inspire others. It’s okay if you’re new to the industry, even though some aren’t as welcoming it’s important to find your community of people that inspire you to dress how you want! My community on a little corner of Instagram is always welcoming, so if you’re new to the industry jump in. You have to start somewhere!
You don’t have to invest in a ton of new tops, or jeans. You can make a simple outfit look Western. So, typically you can use what you have to turn a simple outfit into a dreamy Western style.
Accessories are it! They are what turn a normal fashion outfit into a dreamy western outfit. One of my favorite accessories is a Burned Cowboy Hat. It gives you this Firefly-like glow that’s different from everyone else. Currently, in the Western industry, so many people look the same and so duplicated. I am encouraging you to be your own unique look. That’s why I wear them so often. It’s like your own personal style.
Here’s a post on all the different accessories to think about adding to your wardrobe.
You don’t need 5 different accessories to give a Western look to your outfit. Just 1-2 can do. Like some Turquoise earrings and a Navajo necklace. Or a simple concho belt and turquoise earrings.
Now, what kind of friend would I be educating you on how to make an outfit look western but not telling you one of the most important educational pieces to know before starting? Let’s get into it! Now I have grown up in the Ag industry and never knew this for the longest time, but it needs to be mentioned more.
Faux turquoise and Navajo pearls are frowned upon in the industry. I realize quantity is running through your mind, but I am gonna step aside outside the influencer realm a second and mention, you know you can buy authentic affordably? You don’t need to pull a loan out for jewelry. I share ALL the time affordable pieces on my LTK. Head there to see a few. Be sure to use any discount codes you see in the posts!
If I had to do it all over again, I would use the strategy I do now to continuously build my wardrobe. You can find it in my Ebook, which includes a discount code to my Western Burned Hats. It shows you how to affordably build your wardrobe fast with authentic pieces. I don’t feel many other influencers share this, and man did it take a WHILE for me to realize.
Anyway, hopefully, this gave you the big picture of how to make an outfit look Western. I would love for you to follow and join our community on Instagram if you’re new around here! Our community is full of others cheering you on, as you create your very own unique firefly glow.

Kiersten
