Denim on Denim Western Style Look
Transforming simple, basic clothes into a dreamy western look is easy, you just need to know what to focus on. Sometimes buying clothes seems endless. You feel like you need 20 different things you need to purchase. Often times you think you need buy tops, or jeans but really just a few accessories will work.
Sometimes, all it takes is a few basic pieces and a little creativity to transform your everyday outfits into something straight out of a Western firefly glow. Here’s how you can turn your simple, basic outfit into a dreamy Western style. I have such bigger concept of this all in my Ebook, Simple to Dreamy Western Style in 20 day
Let’s be real—most of us have a stash of basics like jeans, plain tees, or that simple dress we always grab in a rush. The beauty of Western fashion is that you don’t need to start from scratch. Grab your favorite pair of jeans (bonus points if they’re high-waisted or have a little flare) and a simple white or black tee. These pieces might seem basic, but trust me, they’re the perfect foundation for a killer Western look.
Western printed tops and bottoms are SO tempting to buy but if you used simple plain tops and added accessories, you would be able to use what you have more. I do this all the time. I like to use a basic tan top and just add a necklace to it.
Here’s where the fun starts. Accessories are the secret sauce of Western fashion. It’s what makes an outfit look Western. Concho belts, Navajo pearls, and turquoise are the drive of the western glow. Add a statement belt with a big buckle, or stack on some turquoise jewelry for that extra punch. And don’t even get me started on boots. Whether it’s classic cowboy boots or edgy ankle boots, they’ll instantly transform your outfit from basic to dreamy.

Western outerwear is a vibe all on its own. Throw on a denim jacket, fringe vest, or a long duster, and watch how it completely transforms your outfit. These layers don’t just add warmth—they add personality. The best part? You can mix and match depending on the season or your mood. Don’t be afraid to get a little bold here; this is where your Western look really comes to life.
Layering is SO fun once you learn to do it. I typically layer sweaters and vests over a shirt or dress. Or a sweater over a long shirt to wear as a dress. There is so many ways to layer.
Now, let’s talk textures and patterns. Adding a little suede, leather, or even some well-loved denim can take your outfit to the next level. Patterns like Aztec, western prints, or even subtle floral prints give your look that dreamy Western flair without going overboard. The key is balance—let the textures and patterns do the talking while your basics keep things…well basic and sutle.

Western fashion isn’t about buying the most expensive pieces, (though, if you do, I’m jealous). It’s about taking what you already have and giving it that dreamy, rugged twist. With just a few simple swaps and some big turquoise accessories, you’ll be glowing a Western style in no time. So, grab those basics and start building your own dreamy Western look with me!
